Fine China & Glassware Packing

Fine China Packing

Fine china, crystal and glassware are among the most treasured — and most fragile — things you own. Our packers wrap every piece by hand in your home, using specialist cartons and materials, so your collection arrives intact wherever in the world you are moving.

Our approach to fine china

  • Every plate, cup, bowl and glass is individually wrapped in clean, soft packing paper — never newspaper, which can mark delicate glazes.
  • Plates and platters travel on their edge, where they are strongest, rather than stacked flat.
  • Stemware and crystal are cushioned and packed upright in dedicated china cartons, with generous padding around every piece.
  • Every gap is filled so nothing can shift in transit, with the heaviest pieces always at the base.
  • Each carton is clearly labeled “Fragile” and recorded on your packing inventory.
  • Exceptional or irregular pieces — heirloom sets, porcelain figurines, glass sculpture — can be protected in a custom wooden crate.

Before packing day

  • Point out any pieces with existing chips, repairs or special sentimental value during the foreman’s walk-through.
  • Leave your china in its cabinets — our team empties them as they pack, so nothing is handled twice.
  • Set aside anything you would prefer to carry yourself, such as small valuables or irreplaceable pieces.

Moving a valuable collection abroad? Pair fine china packing with custom crating and the right transit insurance for complete peace of mind.
