Privacy policy (Datenschutzerklärung) in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). It explains what personal data this website collects, why, and what rights you have.
1. Who is responsible
SK Worldwide Inc., 300 W Commercial Ave, Moonachie, NJ 07074, United States of America
Telephone: (800) 238-8770 · Email: info@sk-moving.com
2. Overview
This website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking tools. Fonts and all other files are loaded from our own web server, apart from the Google map on our Office Locations page (see section 7). We only receive personal data when you contact us or send us a form.
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by GoDaddy.com, LLC, 100 S. Mill Ave, Suite 1600, Tempe, AZ 85281, USA (servers in Phoenix, Arizona, USA). When you visit the site, the web server automatically records technical information in log files: your IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser and operating system. This is necessary to deliver the website securely and to detect misuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest). Log files are kept only for the hosting provider’s standard retention period and are then deleted, unless they are needed to investigate a security incident.
4. Contact form, quote requests and the self survey
If you send us a quote request through the contact form, we receive the details you enter — for example your name, email address, phone numbers, addresses, moving dates and your message. The form sends these details to us by email.
The online self survey does not send anything to us. It runs in your browser, and you can save your answers as a PDF on your own device and attach it to your own email if you choose to send it to us. We receive the survey only if you email it.
We use this data only to answer your request and to prepare an estimate or quotation (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, steps prior to entering into a contract at your request). We keep it for as long as needed to handle your request and, if you book a move with us, for as long as required by statutory retention periods. Otherwise we delete it once your request has been dealt with.
The forms contain a hidden field used only to block automated spam; it does not collect any information about you.
5. Email and telephone
If you contact us by email or telephone, we process your details to deal with your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for general enquiries).
6. Processing in the United States
We are based in the United States, so the data you send us is processed in the USA. The USA does not provide the same level of data protection as the EU. We transfer your data there because it is necessary to respond to your request and to carry out pre-contractual measures you have asked for (Art. 49(1)(b) GDPR).
7. Google Maps
We use maps from Google Maps (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) to show you where our offices are. When a map loads, your browser connects to Google, which transfers data such as your IP address to Google and possibly to Google servers in the USA.
- Office Locations page: the map is loaded automatically when you open the page, so that you can find us easily (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest in presenting our locations).
- Contact page: the map is only loaded when you click “Show map” (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, consent).
See Google’s privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
8. Google reviews
Our homepage shows our Google rating and recent reviews. Our own web server retrieves this information from Google; your browser does not connect to Google to display it, so no data about you is sent to Google. The reviews show the reviewer’s public Google name. Reviewer profile photos are not loaded.
9. Links to other websites
Our pages link to other websites, for example our Google reviews. When you follow such a link, the privacy policy of that website applies.
10. Your rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict its processing, to data portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where processing is based on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. To exercise these rights, email info@sk-moving.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the EU member state where you live or work.
11. Changes
We may update this privacy policy when our website or the law changes. The current version is always available on this page.
